The timeline of the research seminar is as follows:
| September 10th, 2007: |
Application deadline for potential participants. Applications should consist of a brief CV and a statement to assert the experience with simulation and the interest in modeling computer networks. |
| September 29th, 2007: |
Notification of the selected participants as well as publication of the topics and the detailed agenda. |
| Second week of October 2007: |
Announcement and discussion of topics (by mail and CMS)

| Second week of January 2008: |
First meeting (1-2 days) with short introduction of the participants and first discussion of the topics at RWTH Aachen University.

| End of March 2008: |
Deadline for state-of-the-art sections of the specific chapters on simulation techniques and models, e.g. different protocol models, propagation models, traffic generators, topology generators and their specific models, mobility models, etc. |
| April 14th-18th, 2008: |
GI Research Seminar at Schloss Dagstuhl Presentation and discussion of the individual topics and chapters. Afterwards, discussion and a creative meeting in each case, in order to discuss the above mentioned questions in the group (in particular requirements and characteristics to a uniform simulation framework). |
| April/May 2008: |
Extension and revision of the chapters based on the discussions during the GI Research Seminar. ... combined with a Peer-review-phase to guarantee the high-quality of the Seminar Volume. |
| June/July 2008: |
Final review phase and the delivery to the publisher (Springer). |
