As Klaus suggested we will have a practical session. We will discuss about a certain problem setting to identify possible approaches for tackling the problem.

Problem statement: Many people possess several communication devices like mobile phones, computers, PDAs, ordinary phones/landlines (at office and at home), ... In some cases, these devices have various communication capabilities. Computers and PDAs, for example offer communication services like e-mail, Skype, instant messaging...

This multitude of communication devices and communication services leads to numerous ways of addressing a person. Many persons have several e-mail addresses, several instant messengers, each with a different user ID, several phone numbers, ... Finding the best way to reach a person is not always because (1) not all of these addresses are reachable all the time, (2) different users know different addresses, and (3) using a certain address may be inappropriate at certain times.

Goal of the next session is to come up with possible designs for managing personal addresses on a global scale (every one does it). Challenges are to find solutions which are scalable but still user-friendly and secure.
